What is Client Money Protection (CMP)?
CMP is a form of insurance designed to ensure that landlords and tenants are compensated if a letting agent cannot repay their money, such as in the event of administration or theft. If you ever find yourself in such an unfortunate situation, you can simply reach out to Client Money Protect, and they will handle the claim for compensation.

How Does CMP Work?
Protection for All: This covers rent payments, tenants' deposits, and even money held for repairs and maintenance.
Easy Claim Process: If an issue arises, such as missing rent payments, you can quickly report the matter, and Client Money Protect will handle the rest.
Regular Checks: We encourage landlords to regularly review their bank statements to ensure all rent payments are in line. If any discrepancies occur, we're here to help resolve them quickly.
Conditions for Making Claims
It's important to note that claims are only accepted under specific conditions, such as:
Relating to residential tenancies
Relating to theft of your money
Relating to tenant(s) deposits where the deposit was never protected in an authorised tenancy deposit protection scheme
If the agent is a member and/or the misappropriation occurred during the member’s membership period
Where the agent appears to no longer be trading
If the person making a claim has informed the police of the theft and has a crime reference number
Where the person claiming has taken steps to help minimise their loss
Made within 12 months from the date we were first notified of the member’s misappropriation of client money
